Malaysia has plenty of nature attractions to satisfy even the most discerning of adventure seekers. More than 50 per cent of its land mass is still under forest cover, and there is an immense variety of flora, fauna and marine life to be enjoyed.

Eco-tourism has become of major interest in the last decade and Malaysia's natural attractions have been carefully developed. Malaysia contains one of the oldest rain forests in the region and several national parks to ensure long-term conservation of the rich biodiversity of plant, insect and animal life.

These rain forest are one of the last bastions of the world's rarest plants and animals. The Rafflesia, the world's largest flower and the smallest pygmy squirrel are to be found here. Several eco-systems exist in the Malaysian forests ranging from lowland dipterocarp to sub-tropical montane. There are wetlands, desert scrub and limestone vegetation, amongst many others to check out.

The marine parks off the coastal waters of Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah and Sarawak are virtually unspoiled havens for those who want a colourful variety of marine flora and fauna and clear waters to dive in, there are good diving facilities and accommodation at dive sires. With the Indian Ocean on one side and the South China Sea on the other, the sealife and underwater environment are remarkably diverse.

3D2N Cycling Package @ Tabin
Validity: 01 May 2011– 31 March 2012

Tabin Wildlife Reserve (TWR or Tabin) comprises a rectangular area of approximately 122,539 ha. in the centre of the Dent Peninsula, north-east of Lahad Datu town, south of the lower reaches of the Segama River and north of the Silabukan Protection Forest Reserve. It can be reached via sealed and gravel roads from Lahad Datu in about 40 minutes. The reserve is covered with lowland dipterocarp forest. Tabin has been declared a Wildlife Reserve primarily on account of the large number of animals inhabiting its forests, some of which are highly endangered. The three largest mammals of Sabah – the Borneo Elephant, Sumatran Rhinoceros and Tembadau (Bos javanicus) – are all found within the reserve; nine species of primate are present, as well as three species of cats, all of which are on the protected wildlife list. Of bird species, 42 families representing 220 species have been recorded.

Day 01 Arrive Lahad Datu - Tabin (Lunch/ Dinner)
Arrive LDU by MH 3014 (ETA 1130hrs). You will be met and transferred to local restaurant for lunch.
After lunch, proceed to main road junction, start paddling into Tabin .
Registration upon arrival, check in and free at own leisure. Dinner at resort.
Optional night activity.

Day 02 Tabin (Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner)
Breakfast at the resort.
Cycling along core-area road. Back to resort for lunch.
Afternoon visit mud volcanoes. Dinner at resort.

Day 03 Tabin – Lahad Datu – Depart for onwards destination (Breakfast/ Lunch)
After breakfast, cycling towards main road.
Lunch and shower at Lahad Datu before transfer to Airport.

What to bring: Binoculars, spotingscope (if available), insect repellent, long sleeve shirts & long pants, raincoat, sun hat, swim wear, comfortable trekking shoes, torch light, water bottle & personal toiletries. Leech socks are available for sale at the resort’s shop.

It is not recommended to bring along suitcases and heavy luggage into Tabin. Guest is requested to carry a bag-pack (rucksack) into the Park.
