MELAKA: A holiday package concept is in the pipeline to increase tourist arrivals to Melaka, said state Tourism, Heritage and Culture Committee chairman Muhammad Jailani Khamis.
He said the “holiday in a box” would be made more affordable for tourists to visit all the historical attractions in the state.
“We will get the co-operation of hotels and other tourism players to organise and strengthen the concept,” he said after attending a pre-Hari Raya event at The Shore Oceanarium here.
The event was organised by The Shore Oceanarium CEO Chew Chert Fong.
In a nutshell, he said the concept was all-inclusive holiday packages to cater to both locals and foreigners.
“We will bring the best holiday solutions for everyone in the most convenient packages.”
Jailani also said the hotels that could offer their best price would be invited to be part of the concept, apart from operators of other tourist attractions.
“Tourism is the most precious commodity for the state and the state government is in the midst of devising more concepts to lure visitors,” he added
