THE Penang Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair is back after three years, offering attractive holiday packages for holidaymakers at the Straits Quay Convention Centre in Tanjung Tokong.
MATTA secretary-general Nigel Wong said visitors will be spoilt for choice with various travel destinations either domestically or internationally on offer during the fair from Friday to Sunday.
“We also have AirAsia onboard, which is our official airlines, and they will be having cheaper holiday packages for travellers.
“We will also have the MATTA Fair Buyers’ Contest, where visitors who make purchases of above RM200 will be entitled to participate in this contest offering prizes like return flight tickets, tour packages and more,” he told a press conference on Monday.
Wong said the tourism prospect in Malaysia was healthy with more people opting to go to domestic destinations.
“The travelling trend has changed with domestic tourism on the rise now.
“Besides that, more people are also looking to travel to Asean countries,” he added.
Wong assured the public that all the packages sold at the fair are legitimate and that the visitors should buy without fear.
AirAsia commercial head Spencer Lee, who was also present, said AirAsia will offer a 20%discount to all destinations offered by the airlines during the fair.
“This will be the best time to plan your holiday as well as to boost the state’s tourism.”
