KUANTAN – The Putrajaya Corporation (PPJ) is optimistic of achieving its target of attracting nine million visitors by the end of this year.
PPj corporate communications division director Tengku Aina Tengku Ismail Shah said thus far, it had achieved 60 per cent of the target and expressed confidence of the corporation achieving the target with various events to be organised in the next four months.
“I believe we are able to attract tourists, both local and foreign, with various major events in Putrajaya such as the ongoing 29th SEA Games and other major events, especially towards the end of this year.
“In addition, Putrajaya also offers a lot of uniqueness that may be difficult to find in other cities in the country, such as the landscapes, a combination of local architecture and environmentally friendly flora and fauna,” she said when met by Bernama during the Networking Session and Product Update in conjunction with ‘Putrajaya Dekat Je’ (Putrajaya is Nearby) tourism promotional programme at the Bukit Gambang Resort here today.
She said the two-day ‘Putrajaya Dekat Je’ programme beginning tomorrow at the resort would be able to introduce Putrajaya among the residents of Pahang and visitors to the resort.
Pahang Tourism director Mohd Faharuddin was also present at the event.
